Gullu, the social network for seeing travel friends againSkip to main content

The social network for reunions

Find someone you know, wherever you go.

You meet someone great while travelling, you swap a contact, and you lose them. Gullu replaces that reflex with a selfie taken together, and puts the moment on a world map so you can actually see each other again.

Free. No ads. No feed.

see you soon !

You met them, then you lost touch?

A party, a hostel, a coworking space, a semester abroad. The connection is instant, the promise is genuine: "if you ever pass through my city, let me know". And yet those reunions almost never happen.

  • A number lost in the crowd

It joins 800 other contacts you will never scroll back to. A first name alone tells you nothing about the place, the moment, or the face.

  • A handle behind a wall of content

You follow them, and then they vanish under stories and videos from people you have never met.

  • The same city, never the same week

You are both in Lisbon at the same time, and neither of you will ever know it. Nobody tells anybody.

The problem was never a lack of intent. It was a lack of tool. So we built the one that was missing.

The idea

A map, some selfies, your friends.

Gullu comes down to three ideas. No extra features, no screen designed to distract you, just what it takes to meet again.

  • A living world map

Your friends appear on an interactive map. You land in Lisbon, you open Gullu, and you instantly see who is around.

  • Adding friends by selfie

No phone number, no handle. You take a selfie together and that memory becomes the link. The face, the place, the date, the feeling of the moment.

  • A notification at the right time

When a friend arrives in your city, Gullu lets you know. That is usually all it takes to turn a maybe into a meeting.

How it works

Four steps, and you see each other again.

  1. You meet someone

A party, a dorm room, a coworking space, a night train. The kind of encounter you will still remember in ten years.

  2. You take a selfie

Two seconds, and your friend is added. Forgot in the moment? You can still add them afterwards.

  3. You follow each other on the map

Everyone shows up in their city, never at a precise address, and only to friends they have met in real life.

  4. You meet again

A notification, a message, a coffee. The connection picks up exactly where you left it.

Features

Everything Gullu does.

Seven features, not one more. Tap any of them for the detail.

The heart of Gullu. One world map, all your friends on it, each in the city where they are right now. You see at a glance who is nearby, who lives across the world, and who happens to be exactly where you land next week.

The alternative

Everything Gullu will never do.

We built Gullu by removing things, not adding them. Here is what you will not find in the app, and none of it is an oversight.

  • No feed
  • No recommendation algorithm
  • No disappearing stories
  • No videos engineered to hold your attention
  • No intrusive advertising
  • No like or follower counts
  • No forced tracking
  • No selling of your data

We are not trying to keep you in the app for as long as possible. We are trying to get you out of it, to go and see someone.

Because likes are no substitute for looking someone in the eye.

The app

Simple from the very first screen.

A map, your friends, your memories. Nothing else to learn before you start.

    The map

Your friends, city by city, all over the world.

    Your friends

Every encounter, with the country where it happened.

    Meeting again

One message, and you have a place to meet.
